A little bit about me
Hello there! I’m Greer Sargeant (She/Her/Hers). Most days, you can find me caring for newly postpartum families, supporting a birth, or studying and training as I work toward becoming a therapist.
I am primarily known for my birth and postpartum doula work, as well as childbirth education. I have years of experience working with infants and families. My doula career has been filled with unique individuals who have allowed me to gain broad experiences.
In addition to my doula work, I also offer psychotherapy at Counseling Connection, where I support individuals, children, and families as a rostered, pre-licensed clinician under the supervision of Dr. Leora Black. This allows me to support people not only through the perinatal phase, but also across a wider range of life transitions and challenges.
Please note: to avoid conflicts of interest, I am not able to see former doula families as psychotherapy clients.

My Doula care Philosophy
I come to doula work with a very down to earth approach to the perinatal journey. I understand that people are entering this time with highly individual expectations and feelings. I am here to assist, educate, and advocate for what is essential to the folks I support.
From my perspective, there is no ideal way to give birth, as reflected in my childbirth teaching. Prospectively, I equip each family with the knowledge to help them decide what a good outcome means to them. For some, this is spontaneous labor with minimum interventions; for others, it's induction of labor with an epidural. There is no hierarchy in my teaching; instead, I strive to inform families and give them a perspective of the landscape to come. Regardless of their birth intentions, every family will leave class with tools in their toolbelt to support them on their unique journey.
I meet every moment and every person where they are at, whether that is an unmedicated or a medicated birth. Cesarean or vaginal. Home or hospital. I am here to support the birth you want -- not the birth someone said you should have.
