A little bit about me

Hello there! I’m Greer Sargeant (She/Her/Hers), I live in Charlotte, Vermont, and grew up in the area. Most days, you can find me caring for newly postpartum families or supporting a birth.

I am primarily known for my birth and postpartum doula work, as well as childbirth education. I have years of experience working with infants and families. My doula career has been filled with unique individuals who have allowed me to gain broad experiences. Specifically, I have frequently supported Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) families, birthers of color, LGBTQ folks, and people with a history of anxiety and depression.

I work with people who desire to have an empowered birth and postpartum experience. I am blessed to show families how to enter and engage in parenthood with the support they need to flourish.

My care Philosophy

I come to doula work with a very down to earth approach to the perinatal journey. I understand that people are entering this time with highly individual expectations and feelings. I am here to assist, educate, and advocate for what is essential to the folks I support.

From my perspective, there is no ideal way to give birth, as reflected in my childbirth teaching. Prospectively, I equip each family with the knowledge to help them decide what a good outcome means to them. For some, this is spontaneous labor with minimum interventions; for others, it's induction of labor with an epidural. There is no hierarchy in my teaching; instead, I strive to inform families and give them a perspective of the landscape to come. Regardless of their birth intentions, every family will leave class with tools in their toolbelt to support them on their unique journey.

I meet every moment and every person where they are at, whether that is an unmedicated or a medicated birth. Cesarean or vaginal. Home or hospital. I am here to support the birth you want -- not the birth someone said you should have.
